Children’s Law Center Annual Holiday Party

Dear Friends of Bay Area Legal Services,

For more than 15 years, the L. David Shear Children’s Law Center (CLC) of Bay Area Legal Services has focused its resources on representing the most vulnerable children impacted by abuse and neglect in the Hillsborough County dependency system. The CLC meets each child’s unique legal needs by assigning an attorney and social worker to provide high-quality, client-directed, and holistic legal representation though a trauma-informed lens from court appointment until the child’s case is closed in dependency court.

Over the past year, the tireless advocacy provided by the CLC has meant that Ricky, a smart and vivacious 9- year-old boy is no longer forgotten and living in a nursing home. The CLC’s representation ensured that Ricky received personalized and proper medical care in a home environment with a medical foster parent who ultimately adopted him. There are so many other children, like Ricky, who the CLC represented, who now have stability, a loving home, and a voice in the matters that impact their lives the most.

The CLC’s annual holiday party is on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at the Brandon Community Center. To make this celebration unforgettable, we are looking for individuals/organizations willing to sponsor our event through financial contributions. Your gift helps us pay for event space, craft supplies, food/beverages, gift cards and in-kind donations we can give as holiday presents. Also, we are accepting donations for our annual book drive, you can find our wish list on Amazon.

Bay Area Legal Services is a not-for-profit 501 (c) (3) organization and all contributions are tax deductible.
