Margaret D. Mathews

Margaret Mathews

Since the inception of our Volunteer Lawyers Program in 1982, Margaret had been involved with Bay Area Legal. She took on many pro bono cases, often through the Domestic Violence Assistance Clinic, and provided invaluable mentorship whenever she was asked. Margaret was past member of our Volunteer Leadership, serving on the Board of Directors. When she stepped into the role of Board of Directors Chairperson, she played an integral role in facilitating a lasting partnership with Bay Area Legal and United Way, which is still thriving today. In addition, Margaret was a founding member of Bay Area Legal’s Pearl Society, a professional women’s networking circle with a philanthropic mission to support legal aid in a monetary capacity. Margaret's impact on the legal community is immeasurable.
